CONTAMINATED SITE
ASSESSMENT
We were involved in the first stages of the development of an agreed protocol for contaminated site assessments in New Zealand. The National Environmental Standard for Assessing and Managing Contaminants in Soil to Protect Human Health is a nationally consistent set of planning controls and soil contaminant values. It is used for a HAIL (Hazardous Activities and Industries List) report when developing land with a possible history of contamination. Our experience with numerous HAIL projects throughout the country means that we can deliver high quality specialist reports in soil assessments for clients. We can also complete the resource consent applications that go with HAIL reports - two services in one.

MARINE SERVICING
Sustainable development is for the small projects as well as the large. We have been involved in harbour works for public and private clients checking harbour facilities and reviewing environmental assessments regarding the short and long term effects of marine servicing - such as boat ramps. One good example of a development that meets local needs in a sustainable way is the new boat ramp at Pataua North, Whangarei. The seagull roost to the right of the ramp is undisturbed. Our independent Green Rating of this development was GGG™.
